Artist: KEEP OF KALESSIN Title: Kolossus Format: CD Country: Norway Genre: Black Metal Record Label: Somber Music A work of blazing, somewhat streamlined black metal excellence from these awesome Norwegians. Poised to be the next big thing in Norwegian black metal. Tracklisting: 1. Origin 02:28 2. A New Empire’s Birth 05:50 3. Against the Gods 08:46 4. The Rising Sign 07:27 5. Warmonger 05:20 6. Escape the Union 07:49 7. The Mark of Power 04:55 8. Kolossus 07:15 9. Ascendant 04:31 Total playing time 54:21 Review: Written by deatmetaljunkie [Metal Archives] Keep of Kalessin is a band that has always strived to reach new heights in both composition and musicianship. Their sound is characterized by viciously fast but focused guitar and drum playing coupled with long, epic songwriting. The lyrics usually deal with a war, struggles for power, and the like. The vocals, courtesy of the talented Theoben, are performed in many different, distinct styles. My first experience with this band was when I stumbled upon their last offering, 2006’s Armada. I was blown away by the sheer power, energy, and epic scale of the band and bought their entire back catalog.
